  Profile

Used as an Air Raid bunker in the 1940s, this stadium hosted visiting international teams in the 60s and 70s. After renovation by Minister Tyronne Cooray, the ground hosted several test matches and one day internationals, despite having a poor outfield and minimal facilities. Notable performances include Pradeep Mathew’s 9-40 vs Nomads and Anton Rose’s double century in the late 80s. Ground went into decline after Minister Cooray’s death and is today used as a practice ground for schools around Kadalana.
